GEORGES LEPAPE for PAUL POIRET
« Laquelle » mobile
Mobile in metal and painted on both sides, based on watercolor by Georges Lepape
published in ‘La Gazette du Bon Ton’ in September 1913.
The subject is a woman holding in each of her hands a different colored flower and wondering which one to choose.
The model is wearing the famous ‘Sorbet’ dress by Paul Poiret, composed of a black and white tunic and white adorned with roses and a long and shackled sheath skirt. This model of dress ‘abat-jour’ (lampshade) is characteristic of Paul Poiret’s collections from the early 1910s. The dress was created between the end of 1912 and 1913 and we suppose the mobile in the continuity of the dress.
